Women in Structural Engineering (WiSE) Philadelphia is an affiliate of the Structural Engineers Association of Pennsylvania (SEAoP, formerly the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers), and provides a community for female structural engineers to unite and be supported. WiSE Philadelphia intends to foster greater success and further the interest of women structural engineers by promoting events, endorsing outreach, and building relationships.
Women in Structural Engineering (WiSE) is a network of women structural engineers around the country (www.womeninstructuralengineering.org).
Founded in 2018, WiSE Philadelphia complements its Member Organization (MO), Structural Engineers Association of Pennsylvania (formerly Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers, DVASE), and provides a community for female structural engineers to unite and be supported.
WiSE Philadelphia is led by a dedicated group of women in the Philadelphia region. We are always looking for people who would like to get involved. Monthly, the WiSE Board “meets” either via conference call or in person to discuss group initiatives and upcoming events. WiSE Philadelphia membership means that you are part of a growing network of your peers in the industry interested in advancing the success of women structural engineers. WiSE Philadelphia intends to serve our fellow female structural engineers regardless of their affiliation with SEAoP. Membership to SEAoP is not required to participate and attend WiSE events. We are inclusive to all those interested in supporting our mission.
WiSE holds social events, mentoring opportunities, book clubs, community outreach events, and construction site tours that are independent of the seminars and events offered by DVASE.
