In 2024, the Board and Membership of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers (DVASE) voted to change the name of this professional organization to the Structural Engineers Association of Pennsylvania (SEAoP), and to merge the two organizations beginning in 2025. Founded in 1991, DVASE (now called SEAoP) is a non-profit membership organization, serving structural engineers in the tri-state area for 34 years.
SEAoP conducts technical and business seminars related to structural engineering, organizes volunteer programs, conducts design competitions in preparation for the national design competition, and gives structural engineers in the region an opportunity to meet other structural engineers. SEAoP represents over 325 members from over 85 firms in the tri-state region. SEAoP provides educational opportunities for its members on technical or business topics and hosts site visits. These meetings are included with membership, and most seminars offer valuable Professional Development Hours (PDH), which are awarded at the end of the meeting. SEAoP also works with the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), and other Associations to host half and full day seminars in the Philadelphia area.
Many SEAoP members are influential members of the building industry. We are proud of our expanding membership where we reach several hundred engineering professionals and firms. Our members look to us as a resource for improving their careers and shaping the practice of structural engineering.
SEAoP sponsors have an opportunity to reach hundreds of men and women, with several levels and benefits of sponsorship available. All our events offer a networking component and an opportunity to share business experiences. Events provide interesting keynote speakers and topical education sessions. Our average attendance at each breakfast seminar is 90-100 professional engineers from major firms and industries in the Delaware Valley.
